MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Google staged a direct counteroffensive against Microsoft's Copilot on Wednesday, rolling out a sweeping integration of its Gemini 2.5 multimodal foundation model across the entirety of Google Workspace for enterprise customers.

The update marks the culmination of an eighteen-month effort to unify Google's cloud infrastructure with its consumer productivity suite. Unlike standalone conversational chatbots that exist in isolated browser tabs, the new Gemini tools are embedded directly into Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Meet.

Two-Million-Token Context in Production

The most consequential technical differentiator is Google's massive context window. A project manager can now drag forty distinct quarterly earnings reports, product roadmaps, and customer survey spreadsheets into a single prompt window, asking the system to cross-reference customer retention metrics against marketing spend.

Corporate compliance officers who have previously barred employees from utilizing external AI tools praised Google's enterprise guarantees, which provide contractual indemnification against copyright infringement and guarantee that customer data never touches training sets.
