Editorial & Ethics Policy

Trust is the currency of journalism. At The Chronicle Dispatch, our reporting is guided by the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics and our own rigorous internal guidelines.

1. Verification and Sourcing

We do not publish rumors, unverified social media speculation, or single-source allegations. Wherever possible, sources are identified by their full legal names and professional credentials. Anonymous sources are permitted only when revealing sensitive information of vital public interest where the source faces tangible threat of retaliation or legal jeopardy, and must be vetted and approved by at least two senior editors.

2. Artificial Intelligence Policy

While we report exhaustively on the artificial intelligence revolution, every article, headline, and analysis published by The Chronicle Dispatch is researched, reported, written, and verified by professional human journalists. We do not publish automated or machine-generated editorial text. Machine translation or transcription tools utilized during investigative reporting are audited for accuracy against original recordings.

3. Conflicts of Interest & Financial Disclosures

Reporters and editors are strictly prohibited from holding financial investments, consulting arrangements, or speaking fees with companies, athletic organizations, or political entities they actively cover. Any prior employment or relevant family relationships are explicitly disclosed in the byline or editor's note.

4. Sponsored Content Separation

Commercial relationships, native advertisements, and underwriting sponsorships are distinctly demarcated with standardized visual banners and disclaimers. Our commercial advertising team operates independently of newsroom reporting.
